Do you remember those things with paper and letters in them? I think they called them “books”. Well, one of those is coming your way with a novelization of the great action game.
The novel, entitled Renaissance, features the exact same story told in the video game, only through a different narrative (it’s a book after all). The book is written by a certain individual by the name Oliver Bowden, whom I’ve never heard of.
Personally, I have trouble understanding why anyone would pick this one up at all, and even more so actually reading it. The plot in the Assassin’s Creed games are quite interesting from a video game perspective. But from a novel persoective… not so much.
After all, gamers aren’t commonly spoiled by great story-telling, and Assassin’s Creed II is no exception.
I don’t want to step on any die-hard fans’ toes out there, but let’s face it: if you think this game would make great litteraure, you’ve never read good litterature.
If you haven’t done so yet, I strongly recommend trying out the demo of my upcoming point and click adventure game Bachelor Story. The demo is now available on rpgmaker.net, or you can download it from this blog.
Some feedback and comments on the game is appreciated. This is a work still unfinished, and all feedback is valuable to improve the final product.

I finally got my copy of Bioware’s space shooter RPG Mass Effect 2 today, for my Xbox 360. I will tell you what I think of it as soon as I’ve gotten around to play it properly. I have heard lots of great things about this second installement, so my anticipations are rather hight at the moment.
I did enjoy the original Mass Effect, although not everything was superb to my taste. I hope for a better menu system, a better planet exploration system without a unmaneuverable moon car, and more of the interesting characters.
It would also be nice with a storyline that doesn’t suck this time around.
Well, I am off to explore the world of Mass Effect once more. Wish me luck!

Some games are just legendary, and one of those games is Heroes of Might and Magic; once released by New World Computing ages ago. Me and my friends spent countless hours playing this in hot seat mode: an intimate and sexually confusing experience.
Heroes of Might and Magic would be perfect in a console format. And, being an Xbox 360 cheerleader, I would be most happy to see it on Live Arcade. A remastered version of the classic fantasty strategy/role playing game in high definition, that is my plea.
The gameplay in Heroes of Might and Magic is rather quick paced, excellent for an Xbox Live multiplayer experience. The rather simple strategic concept makes it great for casual matches. This is a true winner, and I would love to see it made.
Ubisoft, if you still possess the rights to this masterpiece, please make this happen!
I believe no game but World of Warcraft would be granted a cinematic trailer with full voice over, just for a new patch release. That’s right, patch 3.3 for World of Warcraft is out, and so is the trailer for it.
But that’s OK, that means I get to her the voice of Earl Boen again. They guy who does the voice for the zombie pirate LeChuck in the Monkey Island games, and the narrator in World of Warcraft. Seriously, that guy must have the coolest voice in the world, perhaps only beaten slightly by Christopher Lee.

In a recent press conference about Mass Effect 2, it is obvious that emotions play a crucial part in Bioware’s upcoming deep space RPG shooter. This is according to statements from CEO Ray Muzyka.
There will be memorable and emotional moments, emotional connection to the Mass Efffect storyline, emotional characters and simply a down-right emotional gmmeplay.
There are a lot of emotions going about, not doubt about it. Someting that makes a bitter taste in my mouth. Not because I’m an emotionless bastard (I do actually cry sometimes, like when my little brother accidentally pulled out the power plug as I had just finished off King Bowser in Super Mario Bros. 3 for the first time and was finally going to watch the ending).
I just don’t… care… about video game characters. And it’s just that I can still recall the last time I heard a developer brag about emotions in his awsome new game.
That’s right, Peter Molyneux. I did not enjoy having to keep my spouse happy when I’d rather kill hobbes, and I did not fall in love with your dog. In fact, I killed your dog.
How’s that for emotional, eh?

Somebody reached the end of the world… of Warcraft, and it was an Asian person (no racism intended). A very dedicated player from Taiwan has managed to earn all the achievements available in the entire game; ranking as the only player that has ever managed to do so.
There are 986 achievements available in the game. Among other things, these achievements include killing 390,895 monsters; dealing 7,255,538,878 damage points; completing 5,906 quests (which means 14.62 quests a day on average) and raiding 405 dungeons.
Obviously, there is one achievement, called BB King, that the player received by mistake and didn’t earn fair and square. It is therefore debated whether he (I assume it’s a he) really deserves the title of the one who earned all the achievements. Let us hope this important matter can be settled peacefully.
I any case, I cannot stress enough how terribly sorry I am for this poor individual. I wonder if he knows what the sun looks like at all. And yes, I mean the real one.

Some hobbies are taken seriously, some are not. Some sports are taken seriously, some are not. Gaming is an activity popularly (and perhaps ignorantly) connected to immature and pubertal males. Why? Well, gaming tournaments like these definitly don’t help.
Game conventions like E3 are, to a large extent, the very display window of the game industry. And what would a gaming convention be without pleasant looking women with big boobs? Unheard of to most participants. We want to looka at new games, and we want them to be surrounded by half naked women.
A book convention or a film convention would be a much more classy experience. Why can’t games be classy? Well, that’s a good question. When a Counter Strike championship is taking place, and a pair of naked women start to rub themselves up against the competitors, in order to destract and test team loyalty, then serious isn’t exactly the first word that comes to mind.
When will the gaming industry grow up? Not in a while, it seems.
